Current Projects

The DeShong Lab conducts research focusing on the conceptualization of personality traits and personality disorders. Recent projects have investigated personality and personality pathology in relation to childhood risk factors, self-harm, religiosity, rumination, and suicide risk. See our publications below for more information on recently published studies!

The DeShong Lab is a highly active research lab that is in the process of data collection or obtaining IRB approval for several different studies. These studies are investigating emotion dysregulation, suicide risk, alcohol misuse, and personality change over time. We are actively recruiting participants for an ongoing NIMH-funded research study. The study takes place in person on the Mississippi State University campus. If you are interested in participating, please complete the pre-screener survey here: https://msstate.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_3qSHIBl4h5d1iOW
